Job Title: Program Coordinator
Reports To: Program Manager

Hours: 20-25 hours per week-Part time
Schedule: On site: Monday – Thursday, 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM (September – May; Number of summer hours may vary)
Compensation: $20 per hour
Calendar: Follows Racine Unified School District calendar for holidays and days off (Non paid days)
John 23 Educational Center strives to empower students to grow personally, socially, morally, and academically while preparing them for their educational journey as life-long learners and leaders in society. We provide homework help, one to one tutoring and enrichment opportunities for our students. We are a ministry of St. Patrick Parish and located minutes away from downtown Racine. Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the implementation of youth academic programming for 4th-12th graders under the supervision of the Program Manager. This position is responsible for data collection, academic support, communication with students and families, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate has a strong background in education, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the maturity to work with adolescents and adults in a community-based setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Support:
- Provide academic tutoring and homework help to middle and high school students on-site.
- Administer academic assessments to students as required.
- Must be proficient in high school-level Algebra and Geometry.
Data & Reporting:
- Collect and maintain accurate program data based on grant requirements.
- Track student attendance and academic progress.
- Assist in preparing reports for funders and stakeholders.
Program Operations:
- Assist the Program Manager with program delivery and logistics.
- Assist the Program Manager in research, planning and executing enrichment activities.
- Assist the Program Manager with planning, shopping, and preparing meals for students.
- Support classroom management and create a structured, safe, and welcoming environment.
Family & Community Engagement:
- Assist with student registration requirements.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with parents and caregivers.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.
- Attend community events and resource fairs as a program representative.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred).
- Proficiency in high school-level Algebra and Geometry is essential.
- Proficiency in Google applications.
- Minimum one year of experience working with adolescents in a classroom or out-of-school time setting.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Maturity, reliability, and professionalism.
Additional Information:
- Prorated PTO after 6 months of employment.
- A background check and a required class must be completed prior to your start date.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Some local travel required for school and community engagement.

Tutor (Part-Time)

Schedule: On-site, Monday –Thursday, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, September – May (with
potential for additional hours in area schools and varied summer hours)
Calendar: Follows Racine Unified School District (RUSD) calendar for holidays and
days off (Non-paid days)

About John 23 Educational Center
John 23 Educational Center, a ministry of St. Patrick’s Parish, strives to empower students to grow personally, socially, morally, and academically while preparing them for their educational journey as life-long learners and leaders in society. We provide free homework help, one-to-one tutoring, and enrichment opportunities to 4-12th grade students in the community. We are located just minutes from downtown Racine.

Position Summary:
The tutor plays a key role in delivering academic support to our 4–12th grade students during after-school programming. Working closely with the onsite Program Coordinator, the tutor will provide individualized and group assistance in core subjects, help students develop strong study habits, and encourage students to engage in enrichment activities. Key
Responsibilities:
● Provide tutoring and homework help in core academic subjects, including
Algebra, and Geometry.
● Support students in academic planning (e.g., create individualized plans,
implement focus strategies and build time management/organization skills).
● In collaboration with the Program Coordinator, monitor and track student
progress, offering support and encouragement.
● Assist the Program Coordinator and Program Manager with executing daily
enrichment activities.
● Foster a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment for all students.
● Utilize online tools, such as Khan Academy and Renaissance, to support
academic instruction.
● Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in college-level courses.
● Proficiency in High School-level Algebra, and Geometry.
● Experience working with youth in educational or mentorship settings preferred.
● Familiarity with online learning platforms (e.g., Khan Academy) a plus.
● Successful completion of a criminal background check.
● Ability to maintain healthy boundaries and a professional demeanor.
● Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Additional Details
● Follows the Racine Unified School District calendar (days off are unpaid).
● Potential for summer hours helping with summer programming (a few days a
week and a couple hours in the afternoon) and individual tutoring (a few hours a
week according to your availability)
● Completion of the Safeguarding All God’s Family – Safe Environment Education
session and a background check.
● Start date: September 18th
