Volunteer Positions
Thank you so much to all of our dedicated Volunteers. We are fortunate to have so many passionate, caring people offer their time and service to our mission. We greatly appreciate all of our volunteers and like to acknowledge the generous help they give to us.
John XXIII Educational Center has many opportunities for community members to get involved and help us carry out our mission! Below are a list of opportunities that are available. For more information or to commit to one of these opportunities,
please contact Br. Mike Kadow at mike_kadow@john23center.org

Mentor
Mentors meet with an individual student for an hour once a week. Our staff works to match each mentor with a student to form a comfortable, trusting relationship between the mentor and mentee. Mentors must be able to commit to working with a student for the entire school year and be able to consistently come to the Center on a weekly basis.
Tutor
We are always looking for assistance for our students in all subject areas, and especially in mathematics. Tutors do not work with a specific student on a weekly basis, but rather, spend time assisting any students who are at the Center and need individual help on assignments and projects.
Greeter
Greeters are responsible for answering the door, greeting students and parents, and ensuring the student receive a snack when they come to the Center. We need greeters for both the afternoon and evening sessions of the Center and for each day of the week.
Secretarial Assistance
Assistance with secretarial work, such as filing papers, making copies, creating files, and organizing forms, is always needed. This type of volunteer work is flexible and can be done on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.
Special Projects & Events
John XXIII has special projects and events that we are always in need of extra assistance for. Some of these projects and events include: Annual Campaign Letter, Christmas Celebration, Fix It Up Days, and the End of the Year Celebration.
