(Available Fall 2024)
Mentors meet with an individual student for an hour once a week. Our staff works to match each mentor with a student to form a comfortable, trusting relationship between the mentor and mentee. Mentors must be able to commit to working with a student for the entire school year and be able to consistently come to the Center on a weekly basis.
We are always looking for assistance for our students in all subject areas, and especially in mathematics. Tutors do not work with a specific student on a weekly basis, but rather, spend time assisting any students who are at the Center and need individual help on assignments and projects.
Greeters are responsible for answering the door, greeting students and parents, and ensuring the student receive a snack when they come to the Center. We need greeters starting at 3:45 to 4:15 M-TH.
John 23 has special projects and events that we are always in need of extra assistance for. Some of these projects and events include: Annual Campaign Letter, Christmas Celebration, Fix It Up Days, and the End of the Year Celebration.
John XXIII Educational Center runs an Afterschool Program which offers help with homework and enrichment activities for students in 5th-12th grade Monday-Thursday from September through May. J23 also partners with local schools to provide outreach groups and academic support.
